New Release: Roto Grip Dark Star!

Monday, March 1st, 2010

Value and Performance have always been synonymous with the Roto Grip brand, and the all new Dark Star stands to continue that tradition.

Our first goal was to develop a stronger Shield Line ball to fit into the Roto Grip line. The team felt that there was too big of a gap between the Nomads and the Planet series balls. The intent was to create more mid-lane read with stronger backend motion, so we developed the Photon Core with a lower RG value and a higher differential.

To enhance this core motion we also added the Ultimate Vision pearl coverstock to this ball. This performance proven coverstock found on the Epic and Illusion series of balls. It boasts a higher coefficient of friction and surface texture for added traction in the oil and superior backend performance.

This combination of core and coverstock was the ideal fit into the line. Our tests showed that it filled the gap between the Nomads and the Planet series balls perfectly.

The Roto Grip shield line has always been known for amazing performance for affordable prices, and this time they’ve raised the bar without raising the price! The Roto Grip Dark Star is currently selling for $79.99 and is rated at a 168.4 on the bowlingball.com Perfect Scale®!

New Release: Storm Natural Bowling Ball!

Monday, June 15th, 2009

As technology advances in bowling it seems that bowling balls hook more and more each year. Reactive resin coverstocks have taken the ability to hook the ball to another level. Since we entered the 21st century there has been a large outcry for a bowling ball that is controllable on lighter oil patterns. Even entry level reactives are too strong and unpredictable on dry lanes sometimes. Well Storm Bowling has answered the call with the Storm Natural!

Natural

Storm has taken the technology that was in use before reactive resin, urethane, and updated it in the new U2S Urethane coverstock. Urethane balls are very smooth and predictable and don’t have the hook potential of reactive balls. This is great for drier lanes and when the lanes get squirrely. Storm has combined the U2S with the newer technology of the Turbine core which is used in the Storm Street Rod, Storm Street Rod Pearl, Storm Fast and Storm Furious!

Many people, including myself, have been begging for a urethane ball for years! Well we finally got our wish! The release date for the Storm Natural is June 25th!

New Releases: Tropical Storm – 2 New Colors!

Monday, May 25th, 2009

Storm has added 2 new colors to their Tropical Storm line! The Storm Tropical Storm Indigo/Ivory and the Storm Tropical Storm Majestic Purple/Ivory!

Tropical Storm Indigo/Ivory

The Tropical Storm is my favorite entry level reactive made today. The Tropical Storm uses the Reactor coverstock that has been used on some of Storm’s best releases from the past few years. You’re getting a ball you know will react well and at a steal of a price! These things look and smell great too! The Storm Tropical Storm Indigo/Ivory smells like blueberry cobbler and the Storm Tropical Storm Majestic Purple/Ivory smells like cheesecake! Sweet!

So if you’re looking for a ball for light to medium-light oil, the Tropical Storm line is a great way to go!
