New Release: Hammer Jigsaw!

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Alright Hammerheads,

Is your arsenal missing a piece of the puzzle? Well you can add the perfect piece by adding the ball with the missing piece – new Hammer Jigsaw!

Jigsaw

What do I mean by missing piece? Well the Jigsaw features the brand new Jigsaw core in which Hammer removed a wedge from the core. This created the highest Mass Bias ball ever from Hammer! The high mass bias will create the most aggressive backend reaction in Hammer’s history!

Also, the new Gription Reactive 5/4 coverstock fits perfectly with the Jigsaw core. This sanded ball has a 500/4000 abralon finish, which it is sanded with 500 grit and then finished with 4000 abralon. In essence what this does is give the ball a 500 grit finish with a smooth surface. This will get the ball through the heads in order to give the Jigsaw core and the 500 grit room to fly on the backend!

Hammer really put on their thinking caps for this ball, and I can’t wait to see the Hammer Jigsaw roll down the lane!

The Hammer Jigsaw will be released on July 14th!

New Release: Storm Natural Bowling Ball!

Monday, June 15th, 2009

As technology advances in bowling it seems that bowling balls hook more and more each year. Reactive resin coverstocks have taken the ability to hook the ball to another level. Since we entered the 21st century there has been a large outcry for a bowling ball that is controllable on lighter oil patterns. Even entry level reactives are too strong and unpredictable on dry lanes sometimes. Well Storm Bowling has answered the call with the Storm Natural!

Natural

Storm has taken the technology that was in use before reactive resin, urethane, and updated it in the new U2S Urethane coverstock. Urethane balls are very smooth and predictable and don’t have the hook potential of reactive balls. This is great for drier lanes and when the lanes get squirrely. Storm has combined the U2S with the newer technology of the Turbine core which is used in the Storm Street Rod, Storm Street Rod Pearl, Storm Fast and Storm Furious!

Many people, including myself, have been begging for a urethane ball for years! Well we finally got our wish! The release date for the Storm Natural is June 25th!

Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

Get ready for mass chaos on the lanes! Let the riots begin because Columbia 300 is about to release the Columbia 300 Bedlam!

Bedlam

Do you have trouble getting the ball to turn the corner sometimes? Do you wish you were able to swing the lane more easily? Well your prayers have come true! With the Columbia 300 Bedlam, you will have no such problems! This will be the biggest backend ball ever to wear the name Columbia 300!

Featuring a new asymmetric core and the new Full Tilt 4.0 coverstock, unless  the Columbia 300 Bedlam goes in the channel it’s gonna come back!

We’ll fill you in on a release date and more details as soon as we know them!

New Release: Roto-Grip Rogue Cell!

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

Get ready for the next piece in Roto-Grip’s groundbreaking Cell Line – the Roto Grip Rogue Cell!

Rogue Cell

The Roto Grip Rogue Cell is a perfect blend of the original Cell (the 2008 Ball of the Year) and the Cell Pearl!

If your Cell is hooking out too early because the oil in the heads is gone, and your Cell Pearl is skating a little too long and won’t recover through the carrydown, then the Rogue Cell is the answer! Being a hybrid, which is part pearl and part solid, the Rogue Cell will help get you through the burnt heads but still have enough on the backend to cut through the carrydown!

Do yourself a favor and pick up a Roto Grip Rogue Cell, because if your competitors get one and you don’t you’ll be at a serious disadvantage!

Bowling Shoes: How Do I Choose?

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

Hello!

At some point in our bowling ventures we’ve all worn those smelly, non-sliding shoes you rent from the front desk. They’re uncomfortable, you never know how much you’re going to slide (if at all!), and who knows where they’ve been! If you bowl frequently, it’s time to get your own shoes!

Bowling shoes are probably the best investment you can make if you bowl on anywhere near a regular basis. I’d say the going rate for renting house shoes is about $4. Now, if you go bowling 10 times a year, that’s $40. There are plenty of good bowling shoes under $40, and you won’t have to rent from the counter ever again!

Okay, but how do I choose?

Let me first say that no matter what pair you buy, it will be better than renting. Just for the simple fact that you’re guaranteed to have the same pair of shoes on your feet every time you bowl. This will help you in knowing how much you’ll slide each time, and you can focus on throwing the ball, not busting your tail!

But as for choosing, let’s look at the Dexter Women's Raquel III White/Pink.

Women's Raquel III White/Pink

This is a great entry level shoe that will give you a consistent slide, and is well made.  would be a great place to start!

And now we’ll look at the Dexter Men's SST 8 .

Men's SST 8

This shoe is the top of the line. The sole and heels are interchangable on both feet. The advantage to this is that no matter where you bowl, you can have the perfect amount of slide or brake that you want! This is important because you want to be able to slide the same everywhere, and with these shoes you can!

These are just 2 examples, but there are many more shoes on the market. If you’re a casual bowler, or you like the look of the sneaker type bowling shoes, you could go with the Dexter Women's Raquel III White/Pink.

If you bowl in a lot of different centers and need to be able to adjust your slide, there’s nothing better than the Dexter Men's SST 8 .

There are tons of choices so visit www.bowlingball.com or come into the shop and we’ll get you set up with just what you need!
